Lead generation key for solicitors’ probate business

Solicitors will have access to high value complex wills and lucrative probate business with the launch of a new online client referral service.

Totally Free Wills plans to arrest a decline in solicitors writing wills and give member law firms leads for profitable cross-selling opportunities.

Although wills work has traditionally been viewed as a 'loss leader' by many law firms keen to grow their client lists, increasing competition in the market place is eroding solicitors’ share of probate, wills, trust and LPA work.

UK consumers will be encouraged to create their free wills by securely inputting the required details online. The will is automatically generated then checked and finalised by an appointed Totally Free Wills panel solicitor. This is unlike other web based systems which entail many of the dangers of DIY wills.

Consumers with more complex circumstances will be advised to deal directly with the panel solicitor who is then able to charge for additional services.

Even the simplest estates have the opportunity to become complicated, and many people having inheritance tax issues, the system is a convenient, secure and ethical means of attracting new private clients for solicitors with minimal administration and investment.

Totally Free Wills managing director, Stephen Cainer, said, "The Totally Free Wills concept will benefit both solicitors and consumers alike."
